World Champion NZ Rugby star and co-captain Ruahei was named World Rugby and New Zealand Player of the Year in 2022, after leading the NZ team to World Cup victory. Her stellar rugby career, which includes debuting for the Auckland Storm in 2013 and joining the Black Ferns in 2018, has been achieved despite numerous setbacks, including three knee reconstructions. Off the field, Ruahei is also a fully qualified lawyer.
