Swimming medallist Mary is a supporter of developing Para swimmers, and a community advocate and mentor for the visually impaired. She represented New Zealand at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London and the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio, winning two gold, two silver and one bronze medal, and setting a world record for the Women’s 200m Individual Medley SM11 in 2012.
